Welcome to tonights episode of A Buddhist Podcast, thank you for taking the time to download! Tonights lectures is based on President Ikeda’s lecture on the first part of a letter written by Nichiren Daishonin to a lady called Nichimyo Shonin. The letter is called The Supremacy of the Law. Themes from this lecture include:

Welcome to another show! It has been a really long time, thank you for bearing with us. Jason has new work that requires a lot of hours and travel that we are still getting used to!

On tonights show we have a lecture on the letter that Nichiren Daishonin wrote to the Ikegami brothers in 1275, its called simply, “Letter to the Brothers”. Tonights lecture is based on President Ikeda’s lecture from SGI Newsletter 7832 and subjects include:

  • Buddhism is about overcoming negativity
  • Walking the talk, the first three presidents of the Soka Gakkai
  • The Dad, the priest, the wives and the brothers
  • Faith is believing in peoples greatness
  • We lose because of fear and influence
  • We win because of wisdom and courage
  • Three obstacles and four devils
  • Will power is not enough
  • United in purpose
  • Master your mind
  • Change within creates change without

A Buddhist Podcast – The Reluctant Buddhist – Chapter 14

Welcome back to another episode of A Buddhist Podcast. Tonight we very fortunate to have William Woollard reading about the Buddhist view of eternal life in Chapter 14 of his popular book, The Reluctant Buddhist.
We have great experiences from Janet Moorhouse in France, Lance Fallin in Arizona and Eleanor Khartchenko in Italy. As usual we have some great music for you. A Buddhist Podcast – The Reluctant Buddhist – Chapter 10

Happy New Year Everyone!

On tonights show we have the stalwart William Woollard reading Chapter 10, ‘The Challenge of Change’ from his book, The Reluctant Buddhist.

Jason reads SGI President Ikeda‘s New Year Message and Karen reads two great experiences from young women in England and the United States. As usual we have shoutouts that cross the globe and some great music! Tonight we play Harley Loudon’s track, “Will You Listen” on the PMN. Also on the PMN we play Stingray’s great track, ‘143’. Not on the PMN, but recorded in our kitchen we also play a new track called, ‘Rocks for Gold’ by the one and only Jimmy Golding.

There is a competition, if you have one of our new decals, you can take a photograph of where you have put it and post it on Flickr.com or elsewhere and send the link and your mail address and size to us on the show. A Buddhist Podcast – Letter from Sado – Part 1

A very merry christmas to you! This last weekend we recorded tonights lecture in the kitchen of the amazing Jackie Evans from Gower and Swansea West District in West Wales. We had a wonderful welcome and met some great people! On our return we finished the show and are delighted to bring you tonight, a lecture on Nichiren Daishonin’s writing, Letter from Sado.
The lecture is quite long and was recorded very late at night, so you might want to listen to it in parts! Subjects include:
Time is the biggest contribution we can make
I solemnly swear that I want to do good
Temples were an investment
The loss of each individual life matters
Clinging on to life
An ungrudging spirit
Use problems to become happy
Earnest resolve
Refuting mistaken teachings
Doing the right thing
The heart of a lion king
