The Three Kinds of Treasure

Thank you so much for waiting. Welcome to the first show from our new home in Vancouver, Canada. Tonights lecture is based on some passages from a famous letter written by Nichiren Daishonin to his loyal disciple Shijo Kingo. My lecture is based on the first half of President Ikeda’s lecture on The Three Kinds of Treasure which can be found in SGI Newsletter No 7908.
Shijo Kingo is in the middle of a huge struggle and has written to Nichiren for guidance in faith on how he should go forward. Some of the points we cover include:

  • Practicing as Nichiren taught
  • Encouraging each other revitalises the SGI
  • Treasuring others
  • The honest friendship of Nichiren and Shijo Kingo
  • Backgammon
  • Breakthroughs and victories
  • Huge targets and how we achieve them
  • The tragedy of jealousy

  3. What a fantastic show! A wonderful, encouraging lecture and words of encouragement about how to grow Sensei’s precious organization, really fun music, thoughtful and sincere Qs & As (I always love these), and, as always, shoutouts around the world.

    Isn’t yours an amazing victory, to be able to pick up half a world away from where you left off and not miss a beat. (But I will miss your kitchen table with its lovely view of forest and meadow.) To your friends and family who must be missing you all terribly, they have my deep appreciation for their sense of loss and my very warmest wishes that they’ll be able to see you often, if only by Skype. I look forward to shoutouts to family and old friends.
