Welcome to another episode of A Buddhist Podcast. Tonight we have the chapter on Challenging from the amazing toolkit book called The Talking Revolution (possible one of the greatest contributions to a good discussion meeting since 28th April 1253!). The book written by Eddy Canfor-Dumas and Peter Osborne is invaluable and I hope you are getting a lot out of it!
In order to expedite the delivery a little faster I have decided to forego adding the conversation, although super valuable the effort required to improve the Skype recordings has proven a little arduous to ensure a regular update for you. I hope you don’t mind and don’t feel you are missing anything.
We play a song, Somebody Like You but the inimitable and irrespressible James Golding, from his album, Supernatural Glam. The music is available online and on CD and we thank James for giving us permission to play it.
Welcome back to another new podcast! Sadly I was not able to finish part 2 of The Drum at the Gate of Thunder, but we do have the amazing William Woollard reading Chapter 11 from his wonderful book, The Case For Buddhism. Its all about Buddhism and money! Tonight we play a jaunty little jazz number by the amazing Robin Lukas, its called Le Fin and it from her album, Chianti and Olives! We will back soon, have a great week!
Tonights episode is the first of a few lectures on a letter Nichiren Daishonin wrote to Sennichi-Ama known as The Drum at the Gate of Thunder.Â
As the first lecture in some time, Jason talks about Buddhist study and goes into some depth on the background to this letter. He starts to explain some of the first passages and then, realizing he has run out of time, rather abruptly ends. Seriously, he has already started writing the next part! The podcast finishes with a wonderful song by the incredibly talented Jody Gnant, from the album Pivot, Great Day is one of Jasons all time favourite tracks! Check out her Jody’s website!
Thank you so much for listening, have a wonderful week!
Well, this one might come as a surprise! After reading the news last week and thinking about the news of this week and next, I thought I would try and get a lead on it with two brilliant talks from William Woollard on Negativity and Anger. William reads from his book The Case For Buddhism
I felt both of these chapters would be a compliment to one another and something to hold in mind as we go through these turbulent times. To keep our spirits up, Robin Lukas sings “Smile” from her album Beyond Paradise Edge.
Welcome to another episode of A Buddhist Podcast! Tonight William Woollard reads Chapter 4, Buddhism and the Problem Paradox from his book, The Case for Buddhism.
I chat for a while about my life and share a recent understanding I’ve developed about a writing from Nichiren to a disciple going through challenging times!
We play a wonderful track that matches my summer, Chianti and Olives by the amazing Robin Lukas. You can buy the track on Amazon, iTunes and CD Baby.
Feels great to post this, have a fantastic week and take care of the people around you. Thank you
Welcome to the first show of 2018. We start tonights show with a chapter from William Woollard’s book, The Case for Buddhism. It sits alongside chapter 3, a useful chapter about Nichiren Daishonin, the Buddha who’s teachings we follow. This is such a great book to give to friends and relatives who want to know more as it explains concepts in easy to understand english and is jargon free! I loved editing Chapter 4 and I hope you get as much out of it as I did.
We play two tracks from the wonderful Robin Lukas, Smile (Robins track) from her album Beyond Paradise Edge, and Walkin’ By Myself from her Album, Robin Lukas. Thank you for supporting the show and for putting a smile on my face Robin!
The show is going to evolve and change but not overnight! Have a wonderful week everyone. Thank you everyone for your support
On tonights show we have William Woollard reading from his new book, The Case For Buddhism! William reads Chapter 1 and part 1 of Chapter 2. It includes a refreshingly honest experience from William on how he started to practice!

Welcome to a podcast that took a long time to write! Tonights show is about death and dying from a Buddhist perspective. My lecture is based on President Ikeda’s lecture in Unlocking the Mysteries of Life and Death. I am also very grateful to Donna and Dash for sharing their experience!
Subjects include:
Nobody believes they are going to die

Of course we have some music on the show. First up we have the Canadian, Christie Grace, courtesy of the Podsafe Music Network, playing her version of Joni Mitchells track, Both Sides Now. Beautiful voice! We also have the one and only Howard Jones, singing Building our own future. Thank you so much for all your support and encouragement. Have an amazing week!
Thank you so much for waiting. Welcome to the first show from our new home in Vancouver, Canada. Tonights lecture is based on some passages from a famous letter written by Nichiren Daishonin to his loyal disciple Shijo Kingo. My lecture is based on the first half of President Ikeda’s lecture on The Three Kinds of Treasure which can be found in SGI Newsletter No 7908.
Shijo Kingo is in the middle of a huge struggle and has written to Nichiren for guidance in faith on how he should go forward. Some of the points we cover include:
Practicing as Nichiren taught
Encouraging each other revitalises the SGI
Treasuring others
The honest friendship of Nichiren and Shijo Kingo
Backgammon
Breakthroughs and victories
Huge targets and how we achieve them
The tragedy of jealousy
We have a lot of shout outs and almost as many questions! We play two tracks from the Podsafe Music Network on tonights show. First we play Falling by Grace Kelly and later we have Gravity by Geoff Smith (who does the intro music to the show!).
Thank you so much for listening and for your encouragement, support and patience while we have been moving! Have the best week of your lives and take great care of each other.
